Friday Night Fights: Canelo - Round 4: That's Gonna Leave A Mark Of The Beast!

For tonight's round of Friday Night Fights: Canelo, I'm combining animal rage with cunning strategy, courtesy of a beastly battle by Steve Englehart, Tom Sutton, and Frank Gaicoia from Amazing Adventures#13, featuring the man who inspired this very blog's title.  This is Henry "Beast" McCoy's first story arc after his hairy transformation. His feelings leave him vulnerable to the manipulations of Mastermind and his fellow Brotherhood Of Evil Mutants members, the Blob and Unus the Untouchable. But now Henry has snapped out of it and....look out, Brotherhood!

Tonight's feral fight music is from a band whom I first learned about from fellow fighter Snell.

Friday Night Fights: Canelo - Round 3: My Chi Is Strong!

Tonight's round of Friday Night Fights: Canelo is my second consecutive time I'm nicking part of Snell's act. In my previous fight, I opted for man vs. animal action, and this time I'm featuring a fight with Shang-Chi. But while Snell usually opts for martial arts melees from the Master Of Kung Fu's self-titled comic, I'm taking this one from one of my childhood favorite arcs in Marvel Team-Up#84, written by Chris Claremont and beautifully illustrated by Sal Buscema and Steve Leialoha. Here, he's teaming up with Nick Fury, Spider-Man, and the Black Widow to wrest control of the captured S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier and its hypnotized agents from the Viper, who's planning to kill Jimmy Carter. But they're in for some opposition from....Boomerang.

Tonight's fight song is from The Dynamic Soul Machine.

Friday Night Fights: Canelo - Round 1: Greystoked!

Welcome to the first round of Spacebooger's latest bout titled Friday Night Fights: Canelo. I figured I'd start this bout by going a little primal with this jungle jam from Tarzan#1 by Roy Thomas and John Buscema (I wanted to switch Buscema bros after leaning on Sal for my last two entries).

Synopsis: TARZAN VS. LION.

Winner: Tarzan.

Tonight's fight music is by the Electric Light Orchestra.

FNF Special: “3…2…1…Happy Knockout” - Miracle Man Mashing!

Our host Spacebooger has decided to bring us one final year-end round called "FNF: 3...2...1...Happy Knockout!". The special rule of this end-of-year embroglio is: It must have a fight scene that is ONLY  4 panels long and the KO takes place on the last panel.

For my done-in-four donnybrook, I'm going with this miraculous melee from Marvel Two-In-One #8 by Steve Gerber, Sal Buscema, and Mike Esposito, in which our favorite everlovin' blue-eyed Thing goes head-to-head with an old Fantastic Four foe, the Miracle Man.

Looks like Bashful Benjy is in a tough spot. Luckily, he's not averse to fighting dirty on occasion.
