Now, THIS guy is the REAL Superboy-Prime!![]()
You may notice that I don't generally post about politics on this blog, although I sometimes drop a few hints of my leanings in my posts. I usually try to keep things comics-related rather than politics-related.
But in this case, the commonality between the two is too wicked to resist.
Look at this excerpt:
According to Karl Rove (on Charlie Rose), the Bush Administration did not want Congress to vote on the Iraq War resolution in the fall of 2002, because they thought it should not be done within the context of an election. Rove, you see, did not think the war vote should be "political".
Are you fucking kidding me?????? Anyone even remotely remembering 2002 and the lead-up to the Iraq War knows that the push to war was coming from the exact opposite direction than Rove described. His rationale for this attempted "retcon" was the fact that the Democrats, thanks to the defection of Sen. Jim Jeffords from the GOP, briefly held the same wafer-thin majority in the Senate that they do today. And several Democratic presidential candidates are (gasp!) Senators or former Senators!! Still, this ranks as one of the greatest insults to the public's intelligence that I have ever seen.
But back in the day Rove was much more effective. Like John Byrne or Judd Winick, he specialized in "historical retcons". I've watched him rewrite and obscure reality over the years, from the phone poll suggesting John McCain had a secret illegitimate offspring in 2000 to the Swift Boat Vets maligning John Kerry in 2004, and, to my horror, he has succeeded far too often.

If DiDio and Levitz were to step down tomorrow and relinquish all their power over DC Comics, they would revert to ordinary aging fanboys.
As Rove is now.

I wass noddign my head right along wiht you. Then I relaised "Karl Rove" wasnt code for "Bill and HIllary"
Now not so much.
And I would use "Karl Rove" as code for "Bill and Hillary" why exactly?
Well, ha ha, I'm not a Hillary supporter anyway, at least not in the primary. If it's her against a Republican, especially that tool Giuliani, next November, then fuck yeah I'm gonna vote for her. But until the primary I'm looking at other candidates like Obama or Dodd or Biden.
And I won't bust your balls on spelling, because I consider myself a first-class speller and grammarian, and even I fuck up on occasion (sometimes even on purpose).
Plus, the only thing Prime really has in common with Bill and Hillary is great hair
