Heh. Maybe telling the troops that you are going to lose, isn't the most imspirational thing you could say.
I prefer a Captain America who gets in omnipotent beings' faces, talks trash to them, and then singlehandedle throws down on 'em even if he's guaranteed to get his ass kicked. (FYI - He actually WON the Doom fight, I kid you not.)
