Friday Night Fights: Hands Of Stone - Round 1: Fly, Robins, Fly!

Welcome to the latest FNF bout, titled Friday Night Fights: Hands Of Stone. Allow me to get things off to a Wonder-ful start. Boy and Girl Wonder-ful, that is.

We've seen FNF rounds featuring each of the six major Robins individually in the past, including a post by yours truly. But tonight marks the first time in FNF history that we've had a fight entry featuring all six of those Robins...TOGETHER!

And by "major" Robins I mean (in chronological order):

Dick Grayson (aka Nightwing here)
Jason Todd
Tim Drake
Stephanie Brown
Damian Wayne
Carrie Kelley (from the "Dark Knight Returns" alternate future)

(This story doesn't have all the countless minor imaginary/Elseworlds long-forgotten one-shot Wayne offspring, so no "Jameses" or "Bruce Jr.'s" here. And this comic came out before Flashpoint and James Robinson's Earth 2, so sorry, no Helena Wayne either.)

Anyyway, on to this week's fight, in which Ra's al Ghul's thugs face off against the Robins....

...ALL AT THE SAME TIME!

This moment of Bat-sidekick simultaneity comes to us from Batman: The Brave And The Bold#13 in a story titled "Calling All Robins!", written by Sholly Fisch and illustrated by Rick Burchett and Dan Davis. The premise behind this story: Batman is dying and the only way to save his life is to get him to the Lazarus Pit in time, so the Phantom Stranger figures that the only way to accomplish this goal is to bring together all the major Robins of the past, present, and future to bring Bats there. As opposed to, say, just teleporting Bats there and dropping him in the pit himself. I guess Snell's right: Phantom Stranger is kind of useless.

Tonight's fight music comes from Silver Convention.
