FNF Presents: “The Long Count” - Prize Fight: Lobo Gets Dox-ed!

Welcome to a special Prize Fight entitled FNF Presents: "The Long Count". Our gracious host Spacebooger has given us one special rule:

"Every fight should have a clear shot of the looser laying lifeless and KOed."

With that gauntlet thrown, I'm going with this special intergalactic embroglio from L.E.G.I.O.N. '89 #10, written by Keith Giffen and Alan Grant and illustrated by Barry Kitson and Mark McKenna. Synopsis: After barely surviving an attack from a then-sex-crazed Stealth, Vril Dox II has spent the week recovering in a regeneration tank. Fresh off being on the receiving end of a double-cross by Dox, Lobo has taken advantage of the Coluan's convalescence to try to kill him. He is stopped from completing this endeavor by the now-lucid Stealth. She gets her rear handed to her by the Czarnian bounty hunter, but it's enough time to give Dox a chance to get his bearings and....

IT'S SHOWDOWN TIME!

Welp, sure looks like a clear shot of Lobo kayoed to me.

Tonight's fight music is this healing hymn by Frank Turner.

Friday Night Fights: Gene - Round 10: Good Vibrations!

You may have noticed how it's been a while since I've posted a round of Friday Night Fights: Gene. That's essentially because the demands of work and family have been kind of kicking my butt recently, leaving me with less time and energy to post these weekly walings. Meaning: I'm going to settle for being an irregular contributor here for the time being. But I'm back for this week's round with a fight guaranteed to shake you up, courtesy of Justice League Of America#140 by Steve Englehart, Dick Dillin, and Frank McLaughlin.

Synopsis: After the Manhunters capture Green Lantern, Green Arrow, and Black Canary, the other members of the Justice League manage to track them to the Arctic, where they fall into a trap courtesy of the Manhunters' leader, the Grandmaster.

To be fair to Superman, 99.999% of the time he tries this, he succeeds. Unfortunately for our Man Of Steel.....

.....this isn't one of those times.

Yep, the old "shrinking energy cube" trick.

Here's where Batman shows why he's in the group.

Actually, Flash, Supes only tried to punch through the cube, not vibrate through it, but....ohh, you be you, Steve Englehart.

And....

You'd think Grandmaster could've gotten away by more than just a few yards away by now, but....let's just roll with it.

Luckily, Flash gets up right away rather than catch 8 hours of "z's" while his friends are being sliced into Kibbles & Bits.

Tonight's fight music is this take on an old Beach Boys song by Todd Rundgren.
