Friday Night Fights: Boogaloo - Round 5: Frightwing!

For tonight's round of Friday Night Fights: Boogaloo, I'm going to show you how an iconic hero handles being overcome by his greatest fears, courtesy of Nightwing#10 by Chuck Dixon, Scott McDaniel, and Karl Story. Synopsis: Inspector Dudley Soames has hired Jonathan Crane aka the Scarecrow to kill Nightwing. To achieve that end, Scarecrow doses our hero with a powerful dose of his fear gas which causes Dick Grayson to hallucinate a reality where he's married to Donna Troy (who's cheating on him with TV repairman Roy Harper), has a 9-to-5 job working for the Joker, lives next door to his more successful coworker Bruce Wayne, and has Jason Todd for his paperboy. At this point Dick is about ready to crack......

......Scarecrow's skull.

Tonight's fearsome fight music comes from Siouxsie And The Banshees.

Friday Night Fights: Boogaloo - Round 4: Stompa The Yard!

This week I happened to take advantage of a Comixology sale of the late 80's Suicide Squad run. So for tonight's round of Friday Night Fights: Boogaloo, I'm going with Suicide Squad#3, written by John Ostrander and Kim Yale and illustrated by Luke McDonnell and Karl Kesel, and featuring a member of Kirby's Fourth World showing some unexpected versatility.

Synopsis: Darkseid sends the Female Furies to break Glorious Godfrey out of his prison cell at Belle Reve, where he has been languishing since the end of Legends. Belle Reve also happens to contain the secret headquartes of the Suicide Squad. Each team has split up. Here we see one of the Furies, Stompa, searching the grounds for Godfrey in her own unique style.

As you can see, Bronze Tiger has just made a serious miscalculation, thinking Stompa's head is much more fragile than her feet.

Spoiler: It's not.

Nor are her hands.

Considering the victor of tonight's Belle Reve brouhaha, what other fight music could I pick but this Serena Ryder number?

Friday Night Fights: Boogaloo - Round 3: The Bane Of Cap's Existence!

In honor of today being the Fourth of July, tonight's round of Friday Night Fights: Boogaloo features the Sentinel Of Liberty himself, Captain America, vs. the man who once broke the Bat.

Tonight's Big 2 crossover classic comes from DC Vs. Marvel #2, written by Ron Marz and Peter David and, in the case of this battle, drawn by Claudio Castellini. Synopsis: Having thrown his shield at Bane and seemingly missing, Cap is now on the verge of being the victim of Bane's signature move before......

.... being saved by Cap's signature move.

Tonight's fight music is this perfectly-titled ditty by Sweet.
